ALBION, Nebraska (Sept 2, 2024) – Boone County Health Center is proud to announce that it has been recognized as a ‘top hospital for nurse communication’ in Nebraska by Becker’s Hospital Review. This prestigious recognition is based on data from the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) collected by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

CMS compiles 10 HCAHPS star ratings, which are based on publicly reported measures from HCAHPS surveys. The nurse communication star rating reflects how well patients feel that their nurses explained things clearly, listened carefully, and treated them with courtesy and respect. These ratings are derived from responses to three specific HCAHPS survey questions.

The data for this rating was collected from hospital patients between July 2022 and June 2023 and was released on April 24, 2024, via CMS’ Provider Data Catalog. It is important to note that this recognition is not applied for or paid for; rather, all hospitals in the nation are automatically reviewed based on their performance.

“This recognition is a testament to the hard work and commitment of our nursing staff,” said Caleb Poore, President and CEO of Boone County Health Center. “We are honored to be acknowledged for our efforts to ensure clear communication, active listening, and respectful treatment of our patients.”

Boone County Health Center has been serving the community for 74 years and is recognized as a Top 20 Rural and Community Hospita; in the Nation and a 5-Star facility. This latest accolade reinforces the health center’s ongoing commitment to providing top-tier healthcare services.
