The Boone County Health Center offers a generous benefits package including health, dental and life insurance coverage, as well as low-cost health and wellness services and many other benefits.
Health Insurance
Who Pays
BCHC and Employee
Boone County Health Center provides a High Deductible Insurance Plan with a Health Savings Account. All expenses are paid at full cost until the deductible is met. Then 20% of allowable charges until total out-of-pocket is met then covered 100%.
The prescription plan is a BCHC program and requires that all prescription medication be filled at the BCHC pharmacy. This plan has variable co-pays. The prescription plan is separate from the medical plan.
Employees are eligible if they are in a position working 24 or more hours per week. Eligibility begins the first of the month following the employee’s first 30 days of employment.

Health Saving Account

BCHC contributes money to employees participating in the Health Insurance. Employees can also contribute money pretax for medical, dental, and vision not covered by insurance.
Employees are eligible if they are in a position working 24 or more hours per week. Eligibility begins the first of the month following the employee’s first 30 days of employment.
Dental Insurance

This plan covers preventive at 100% – no deductible. For basic procedures coverage is at 80% and major 50% after a $50 deductible. Annual maximum benefit is $1000.
Employees are eligible if they are in a position working 24 or more hours per week. Eligibility begins the first of the month following the employee’s first 30 days of employment.
Life Insurance

BCHC pays for $40,000 coverage for eligible employees.
Employees are able to purchase additional coverage up to 5X salary.
Eligible employees must work 24 or more hours per week. Eligibility begins the first of the month following 30 days of active employment.
Retirement Plan

BCHC matches up to 2% of gross pay.
There is a 5 year vesting period for employer match money.
Eligibility for matching is 1 year of service, and attained age 21, and worked 1000 hours.
Flexible Spending Accounts

Employees can elect money to be deducted, tax free, for payment of dependent care or unreimbursed medical expenses.
Eligible employees must work 24 or more hours per week. Eligible the first of the month following date of hire.
Vision Program

Eye Physicians offers all employees and dependents discounts when employees use their services at any of their locations.
Paid Time Off (PTO)

PTO accrual starts the first day of employment and available to use with manager approval. Eligible employees earn time for the hours worked, figured at .0692.
Employees are eligible unless they are PRN status.
Funeral Time

Eligible employees are given up to 3 days off with pay for bereavement.
Jury Duty

BCHC will pay the difference between jury pay and your regular pay for scheduled days missed.

Boone County Fitness Center Discounts

BCHC will pay a percentage of the employees membership.

BCHC will payroll deduct for employees who want to invest in their child’s future.
Direct Deposit
Direct deposit is mandatory for all BCHC employees.
Child Development Center

BCHC has a daycare service available for children ages 6 weeks through 12 years of age.
Shift Differentials
Shift differentials are paid to non-exempt employees working nights and weekends.
