Erin McKown MPAS, PA-C is currently a doctoral candidate furthering her education at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in the Doctorate of Science in Physician Assistant Studies program.
McKown has been elected into the membership of the honor society of Phi Kappa Phi. This is the nation’s most prestigious and selective all-discipline academic honor society in which the top 10% of graduate students are invited.
“This recognition exemplifies the top-level providers we have at Boone County Health Center,” said Boone County Health Center CEO Tanya Sharp. “We have the best of the best, and the academic world recognizes that excellence.”
McKown stated, “I have a love of learning and had a desire to become more of a scholar practitioner. This degree will allow me to practice more evidence-based medicine. It also gives me the ability to pursue educational opportunities and participate in writing research-based articles.”
“The decision to go on with my education was twofold. The timing is good with my family, which is a priority, and acquiring my doctorate will provide me with additional tools to enhance my practice at Boone County Health Center,” said McKown.
McKown’s anticipated graduation date is August 2020.
