Albion, NE (February 19, 2025) – Boone County Health Center (BCHC) is pleased to announce that longtime registered nurse Tara Leetch has officially signed on as a Nurse Practitioner and will begin seeing patients in both the Clinic and Emergency Department in late summer.

Tara has dedicated 17 years to BCHC, serving in various roles across the hospital, including the medical-surgical floor, labor and delivery, and emergency department. She has also served as the Infection Preventionist nurse, Emergency Department manager, and trauma coordinator. Her extensive experience, coupled with her passion for patient care, led her to take the next step in her career and pursue her Nurse Practitioner degree.

“I see myself as a lifelong learner and was ready for the next challenge,” said Tara. “I have always loved the acute care setting of the hospital, especially the emergency department, but I’m looking forward to working in primary care and continuing to build relationships with patients and families.”

Tara began her nursing journey as a Certified Nursing Assistant at age 16, inspired by her mother’s encouragement. She later earned her Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Central Community College in 2008, followed by her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2015. She is currently completing her Master’s Degree in Nursing through Mount Marty University, with plans to graduate in May 2025.

Throughout her career, Tara has been influenced by many nurses at BCHC, including experienced mentors who guided her in her early years. “I feel so appreciative of all the love and support from so many people at BCHC who have helped me along the way,” she said.

Boone County Health Center CEO Caleb Poore expressed his appreciation for Tara’s long-standing commitment to the health center. “Tara has given so much to BCHC over the years, and we are thrilled to see her take on this new role. Her dedication, experience, and compassion for patients make her an incredible asset to our team, and we are grateful she is continuing her career with us.”

Outside of work, Tara enjoys spending time with her family, attending her children’s activities, and enjoying the outdoors at their cabin, where they love boating and fishing. She also has a passion for cooking, gardening, and running.

BCHC is excited to welcome Tara into her new role and looks forward to her continued impact in serving the community.
