Health Center Expands Appointment Notification Services
By: Aprill Murphy
Albion, NE (June 10, 2026) – Boone County Health Center (BCHC) is pleased to announce an upgrade to our patient appointment notification system, with a go-live date of June 16, 2026.
This enhanced service will now be available for all outpatient appointments, including Clinic visits, CT scans, MRI appointments, mammograms, therapies, surgical services, and other outpatient procedures at all BCHC locations.
Patients who enroll in notifications will be able to choose how they receive appointment reminders—by text message, phone call, or email. Once an appointment is scheduled, patients will receive an immediate confirmation message, followed by a confirmation notification five days before and a reminder one day before their appointment.
“We are excited to expand this service to more appointment types,” said Jennifer Brockhaus, a Clinical Informaticist at BCHC. “Our goal is to make healthcare more convenient, improve communication, and help patients stay informed about their appointments.”
In addition to appointment reminders, the notification system will allow BCHC to quickly communicate important updates, including provider schedule changes, equipment-related delays, or weather-related closures and cancellations. Patients enrolled in the service can receive timely updates without having to call the clinic for information.
BCHC encourages patients to choose text or phone notifications whenever possible, as these methods tend to be the fastest and most reliable. Notification services are also available in Spanish.
Patients will be offered the opportunity to enroll when scheduling appointments. BCHC encourages everyone to take advantage of this service to stay connected, save time, reduce unnecessary travel, and receive timely updates related to their appointments and care.
