Albion, NE (April 30, 2025) – Boone County Health Center is proud to welcome Amber Salwei, Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA), to the therapy team. Amber brings with her nearly two decades of experience in physical therapy, spanning a variety of settings including outpatient care, skilled nursing, acute rehab, and home health. Her passion for rural healthcare and her deep local roots make her a valuable addition to BCHC.

Amber grew up northeast of Albion on a family farm, and after years of working in Columbus and Omaha, she and her husband Mathew moved back to raise their four children—Hailey, Jase, Carter, and Tristan—on the same farm. In her spare time, Amber enjoys camping, fishing, and supporting her kids at their many sporting events.

Amber earned her Associate Degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant from Clarkson College in 2005 and holds certification in kinesiotaping. Over the years, she’s taken on many therapy roles—including serving as a rehab director—throughout the region.

Amber takes a patient-first approach, prioritizing education, motivation, and meaningful progress. “It’s not about ‘no pain, no gain,’” she says. “It’s about figuring out what patients want to achieve and helping them get there—step by step.” She focuses on equipping individuals with the knowledge and tools they need to stay active and improve their quality of life beyond the therapy sessions.

Now working full-time Monday through Friday at BCHC, Amber says she’s excited to be part of a team that feels like family and shares her passion for delivering excellent patient care. “It’s the people and the community that brought me here. I love being able to care for the folks I grew up with.”

Together, the PT staff at Boone County Health Center is committed to meeting the diverse needs of the communities they serve—whether it’s helping patients recover from surgery, manage chronic conditions, or regain independence after injury. With a shared focus on personalized, compassionate care, the therapy team works collaboratively to support each patient’s journey toward better mobility and quality of life.
