Get Help Applying for Health Insurance
By: Boone County Health Center
The Nebraska Health Insurance Marketplace, where many people get their insurance, is now open. It will close December 7, 2017.
Every Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Boone County Health Center (BCHC) along with NebraskaHealth+ offers free help to people who need to apply for insurance. This is a free service open to all people.
“We know applying for insurance can be hard, so we want to help,” said CEO Tanya Sharp. “When people come in, we’ll help them understand their choices, answer questions, and even help them apply.”
As a bonus, they can also get help applying for
- Medicaid
- SNAP (which used to be known as the Food Stamp Program)
- Economic Assistance Programs such as Child Care AssistanceABD, and Energy Assistance.
“Good healthcare means caring for the person as a whole. This is one way we hope to help do that,” said Sharp.
