ALBION, NEBRASKA (Sept 4, 2024) – Boone County Health Center (BCHC) is pleased to announce the addition of Shirley Berger to its Foundation Board. Shirley, a farmer/rancher wife and bookkeeper, brings financial knowledge and dedication to her new role, rooted in a deep commitment to the community and BCHC’s mission.

Shirley is married to Bill Berger, and together they have four children, a son-in-law, a daughter-in-law, and a grandson. Shirley’s connection to BCHC runs deep, as her daughter, Melissa, previously worked at BCHC as an Exercise Specialist in Cardiac Rehab for eight years.

Shirley decided to join the BCHC Foundation Board because of her family’s positive experiences with the center’s services. “My family has utilized the incredible and updated services BCHC has to offer,” she said. “I want to continue to encourage and promote the importance of updated modern equipment.”

She is particularly passionate about the convenience and efficiency of BCHC’s services, which include preventative exams, surgical procedures, therapy services, and specialty clinics. Living in a rural area, Shirley understands the importance of having high-quality healthcare close to home. “We are so fortunate and blessed to have the services BCHC offers so close to our homes,” she remarked. “For my family and me, it’s convenient to make that quick trip to get labs drawn, tests performed, attend therapy sessions, etc., without having to drive miles.”

Shirley is excited about the recent expansion at BCHC, which has not only provided a better facility with more space but also expanded the entire BCHC staff. Looking ahead, she hopes to see continued growth in the specialty services offered by BCHC.

In her spare time, Shirley enjoys baking, shopping, antiquing, and spending quality time with her children and grandson. These hobbies reflect her appreciation for tradition and family, values she brings to her role on the Foundation Board.

Shirley Berger is a welcome addition to the Boone County Health Center Foundation Board, where she will help ensure that BCHC continues to provide top-quality care to the community for years to come.
