ALBION, Nebraska (June 19, 2024) – Boone County Health Center (BCHC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dana Cox to its Board of Directors. Cox, a community leader and business owner, brings valuable experience and a commitment to advancing healthcare services in our local area.
Cox will officially assume his role on July 1, 2024, succeeding Ken Schmitz of Petersburg, who served the board for twelve years. BCHC is a county-owned hospital, and board members are elected by the county commissioners, with a limit of two consecutive six-year terms.
With a background in business ownership and board membership, Cox is poised to contribute to the hospital board. As the Founder/Owner of Cox Tire Service LLC and Dana Cox Farms, he has demonstrated leadership and financial management skills.
Cox’s community involvement extends beyond business. As a current School Board Member at St. Michaels Catholic School, he has played a role in shaping educational policies and managing budgets effectively. His understanding of community needs aligns with the hospital’s mission.
In his letter expressing interest in the position, Cox emphasized his commitment to advocating for accessible healthcare services. He brings strategic planning capabilities honed through years of business development experience.
“Cox’s leadership, community engagement, and commitment resonate with our mission. We welcome him enthusiastically and look forward to his contributions,” said Caleb Poore, BCHC President and CEO.
The Board of Directors meets monthly to guide operations at Boone County Health Center and set its vision and mission. Their focus is on furthering BCHC’s mission of providing quality healthcare for rural residents.
