Albion, NE (May 28, 2025) –Boone County Health Center welcomes Gary Stokes as the newest member of its Board of Trustees. Stokes was officially appointed by the Boone County Commissioners at their May meeting and steps into the position previously held by Don Casper, who served on the hospital board for 12 years, following prior service on the BCHC Foundation Board.

Stokes brings nearly three decades of leadership experience in manufacturing and financial oversight at Lindsay Manufacturing as Director of Operations, paired with a lifelong connection to agriculture in Boone County. A native of Petersburg, Gary grew up on a farm and understands the values, work ethic, and unique challenges that define rural life.

“We are excited to have Gary join the Board of Trustees,” said Paul Groeteke, who now serves as Board Chairman, with Dana Cox named Vice Chair. “His background in strategic planning, budget management, and collaborative leadership makes him well-suited to help guide the Health Center’s mission forward.”

Throughout his career, Stokes has demonstrated strong fiscal stewardship, sound decision-making, and a commitment to achieving organizational goals. His dual background in agriculture and business gives him a distinctive perspective on improving access to healthcare and enhancing quality of life in the region.

“I’m honored to be part of Boone County Health Center’s mission to serve our communities,” said Stokes. “I look forward to contributing to efforts that support sustainable growth, innovation, and continued excellence in rural healthcare.”

The Health Center also extends its deep appreciation to Don Casper for his years of dedicated service. As Board President, Don brought steady leadership, deep community insight, and a strong commitment to patient-centered care. His contributions have left a lasting impact on the organization and the people it serves.
