Boone County Health Center Earns ACR Accreditation in 3D Mammography

By: Boone County Health Center

Patients can rest assured they are getting top-quality breast exam images with 3D mammography at Boone County Health Center, as the hospital has achieved the gold standard of accreditation from the American College of Radiology (ACR).

“Thanks to public support and donations, we are happy to offer such excellent image quality close to home,” said Radiology Supervisor Brenda Warner. “Our images are of the same quality level women were getting in larger cities, so this will save local women a lot of driving time and hassle. The 3D images can help us catch cancer at an earlier stage.”

In order to be awarded this top-of-the-line accreditation, Boone County Health Center had to meet ACR practice parameters and technical standards and be evaluated by a board-certified physician who is an expert in the field.

During the review process, Boone County Health Center was evaluated on image quality, staff qualifications, equipment, quality control procedures and quality assurance programs. These findings were then reported to the ACR’s Committee on Accreditation.

High standards will be maintained and improved upon at Boone County Health Center according to a comprehensive report provided by ACR.
